Commemorative Belgian coin

Issuance year - 2005
It's not a good photo of the effigies of Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg and King Albert II of Belgium. Not so pretty as the other ones, mainly because they are depicted in profile (from left to right) in the centre of the coin, above the year of issue, 2005.
The engraver's initials, ‘LL', appear to the lower right. The two effigies and the date are surrounded by the outer ring bearing the 12 stars of the EU and the monograms of Grand Duke Henri on the left and of King Albert II on the right.
Only one available for swap by other commmemorative missing coin.
Issuing volume: 6 million coins

France

Since 1999, only three different design's in French coins. Here we can almost find so many french coins as portuguese ones.

Commemorative Portuguese coin

Issued year - 2007, March

Our first commemorative coin issued together with the other 12 countries. For the very first time, euro coins will have a common design on both sides to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. The coin shows the Treaty document signed by the six founding countries. At this moment I only have 4 "PORTUGAL" coins available to swap for any one of the 12 "sister's" issued by the other countries.

I have more coins now (07-05-2008)

Greece

On January 1, 1999 eleven European member states adopted the euro as their currency and started producing the coins in order to replace their national currencies by January 1, 2002. Following a delay of exactly two years, Greece was also accepted into the Eurozone but it became impossible for the Hellenic Mint to produce 1300 million euro coins in time for the January 1, 2002 changeover to the new currency. The officials decided to order 500 million coins from abroad (Spain, Finland and France) and these coins feature two different mintmarks: the anthemion flower, which can be found on all the Greek modern coins and a small letter indicating the mint in which the coin was struck.

Mintmark "S": Finland (Suomi) on the 1 and 2 euro coins - inside star nº 7
Mintmark "E": Spain (Espana) on the 20 cent coins -
inside star nº 9
Mintmark "F": France on the 1, 2, 5, 10 and 50 cent coins - inside star nº 3, 9 and 11

Belgium

Since 1999 up to 2007, all the belgian coins depicts King Albert II and a monogram – a capital "A" underneath a crown – among 12 stars, symbolising Europe. The year of issue is part of the design, but unhappyly for us, few are the years with the 8 different currencies issued.

Ireland

Only one design, only one image, the Irish have their national symbol, the harp, on the reverse side of their coins. The biggest difficulty is to find the Irish 1,2 centimes and 1, 2 € coins here in Portugal.

------------------------Missing coins
I'm having some difficulty to find coins between 2006- 2007, and also the missing ones between 2003-2005. Now, there's less than 15 missing irish coins, thanks to the trade with James Crotty, from Ennis Co. Clare, Ireland.

Commemorative German Mecklenburg-Vorpommern -"F"

Issuance year - 2007
For me, one of the most beautiful coins and it shows a representation of the Schwerin Castle. The word "Mecklenburg-vorpommern" is inscribed underneath the castle and the engraver’s initials "HH" appear at the bottom of the inner part of the coin. One of the letters ’A - Berlin’, ’D - Munich’, ’F - Stuttgart’, ’G - Karlsruhe’ or ’J - Hamburg’ appears as the mintmark above the design.
30 millions have been issued and I have only this one with the letter "F" - Stuttgart, so I need someone to swap the missing ones for the portugueses coins or others.

Slovenia

For now I have only this beautiful 2 € coin of the latest country to adopt the euro as its official currency. The Slovenian euro coins have 8 different designs and they are the first to feature a new common side, with a new map of Europe. Officially is the 13.º country and it join on January,2007.
One more now: 2 centimes
Click here to see the image of the eight slovenian coins.

Austria

Since 2002 to 2006 or until now, the Austrian coins are very difficult to find here in Portugal. The 1 cent coins are really rare around here.

Click here to see the image of the 8 different designs of the Austrian coins with representative historical monuments or figures like Mozart (1€) and the Nobel price Winner Bertha Von Suttner (2€).
